What you'll do
You will work on client engagements, combining clinical knowledge, analytical thinking, and structured problem-solving to address complex healthcare challenges.
You will identify opportunities for operational improvement, redesign care workflows, and support the development of strategies, transformation initiatives, and implementation of roadmaps that enhance healthcare delivery and organizational performance.
Your work also involves translating complex medical policies and clinical guidelines for business stakeholders and having the ability to further translate these policies into analytical frameworks that inform decision making. Drawing on these insights, you will identify gaps in care, clinical risks, and opportunities for improvement while designing ideal care journeys across a range of disease areas, including chronic conditions such as diabetes and chronic kidney disease (CKD). This includes defining key interventions, milestones, and care pathways across different stages of disease progression, identifying clinical markers that signal emerging risks or worsening conditions, and leveraging analytics to identify at-risk populations and recommend targeted actions that improve health outcomes and care effectiveness.
Working closely with clients, McKinsey teams, and practice leaders, you will build tenure-appropriate client relationships, facilitate syndication and problem-solving discussions, and support implementation efforts. You will contribute to workshops, client events, and frontline transformations, applying strong project management and communication skills to help translate recommendations into tangible results.
You will join our Client Capabilities Network in the Gurugram office as part of the Healthcare Access, Quality, and Outcomes (HALO) domain within the Social, Healthcare and Public Entities (SHaPE) practice.
HALO brings together clinicians, healthcare experts, consultants, data scientists, and engineers to help healthcare organizations improve affordability, access, quality, and operational effectiveness. The team develops and deploys proprietary analytics, expertise, and transformation capabilities to support payors, healthcare services organizations, provider-led health plans, and other risk-bearing healthcare entities. Together, we aspire to improve healthcare performance and outcomes at scale.
Beyond client engagements, you will contribute to the development of new knowledge, intellectual property, and capabilities that strengthen HALO's healthcare offerings and extend our impact across clients globally.
Your background
- Medical degree, such as MBBS or related qualification, preferred
- 2+ years of experience in healthcare transformation, healthcare operations, payer or provider organizations, clinical operations, healthcare strategy, or management consulting
- Strong understanding of healthcare delivery models, clinical workflows, healthcare operations, and performance improvement methodologies, with the ability to connect clinical knowledge to operational and business outcomes
- Familiarity with SQL and experience querying data from relational databases or cloud-based data environments
- Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, and influencing skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team-based, entrepreneurial environment
- Experience facilitating workshops, developing implementation roadmaps, and supporting organizational change initiatives is preferred
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex clinical, operational, and analytical concepts into clear, actionable recommendations for diverse stakeholders
