What You'll Do What You’ll Do Principal's Global Equity team is searching for an Equities Intern for Summer 2027 to join our research team! This candidate will work with a diverse team of portfolio managers and dedicated sector analysts to deliver proprietary research and investment recommendations. How You'll Spend Your Day Participate across the equity investment process, including deep fundamental research, corporate-access work, and financial modeling. You’ll likely be asked to research specific stocks and pitch the entire investment team. Support Research Analysts in developing differentiated investment ideas. Take on special projects that identify potential buy and sell candidates. These projects provide exposure to analyst meetings and company-specific discussions, while giving you the opportunity to develop and present your own investment theses. Interns seeking a more quantitative focus will also receive tailored analytical projects. Embed within the equity research organization through global daily meetings, sector-team discussions, and broader investment forums. Gain exposure to company management teams, industry experts, and sell-side research professionals. Who You Are Who You Are You are working towards an undergraduate degree in economics, finance, accounting, engineering, business analytics, math, statistics, sciences (with investment coursework), or a related major By summer of 2027, you will have had courses or experience in security analysis including coursework in equity valuation You have exposure to equity investments through involvement in student organizations or work experiences Demonstrated ability to leverage AI-enabled research tools (including agentic AI and coworking tools) to enhance idea generation, due diligence, analysis, and investment decision-making. Availability to work fulltime, onsite in Des Moines, IA or New York City, NY during the summer of 2027. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. This amount is intended to support incidental expenses you may incur as part of your internship.
