The Data Quality & Governance Coordinator supports the organization's data governance and data quality initiatives by performing data analysis, data validation, data profiling, and documentation activities. This role works closely with data owners, business users, and technical teams to identify data issues, monitor data quality, maintain governance artifacts, and assist with the implementation of established data governance frameworks and standards.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about ensuring trusted, accurate, and consistent data across business processes and reporting platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct data mining, profiling, and analysis to identify data quality issues, trends, and anomalies.
- Monitor data quality metrics and perform routine data validation and reconciliation activities.
- Investigate and document data discrepancies, gaps, and inconsistencies.
- Support the identification and resolution of data quality issues resulting from integration and processing errors.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to support the resolution of data quality issues.
- Assist in the implementation and adoption of established data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Maintain data dictionaries, business glossaries, metadata repositories, and governance documentation.
- Support data stewardship activities by working with stakeholders to improve data accuracy and consistency.
- Participate in governance meetings and provide updates on data quality findings and remediation efforts.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and summaries related to data quality performance and governance compliance.
Successful Candidate Will Have
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in data analysis, data management, data quality, business intelligence, or related roles.
- Experience working with large datasets and performing data validation and analysis.
- Working knowledge of SQL (joins, filtering, basic transformations).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data reporting tools.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across business and technical teams.
Preferred
- Exposure to data governance concepts, data stewardship, or master data management.
- Experience in insurance or regulated industry
- Experience with Power BI or similar data management tools.
- Familiarity with metadata management and data lineage concepts.
- Understanding of data privacy, compliance, and information security principles.
Pay Range
$70,000 - $88,000 AnnualThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
