This is a hybrid position based in Warrang – Sydney.

As a Senior Manager you join the Risk Consulting team and be responsible for leading and managing Risk Transformation engagements across a range of industries. In this role you will focus on delivery of EY’s Integrated Risk Management (IRM) solution including the assessment, design and implementation of governance, risk and compliance operating models and frameworks, conducting enterprise, strategic and operational risk assessments, facilitating risk appetite and tolerance development and performing risk deep-dives, control reviews and governance assessments which support alignment with AS / NZS ISO 31000:2018, the ASX Corporate Governance Principles and other leading practices.

This role requires strategic oversight, technical expertise, stakeholder management capability, and team leadership to deliver high-quality client outcomes.

Your key responsibilities

Leadership and Delivery

• Lead and manage a portfolio of IRM services and associated risk advisory engagements, ensuring alignment with client strategies and risk profiles.
• Oversee all phases of engagement delivery, including planning, scoping, fieldwork, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
• Provide insights and recommendations that enhance organisational risk governance and support the achievement of performance objectives.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and quality assurance processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery of engagements.
• Ensure all work adheres to professional standards, EY methodologies, and regulatory requirements.

Client and Stakeholder Management

• Maintain effective relationships with client executives, Steering Committees, Boards, Audit Committees, and management teams.
• Support client organisations in strengthening their risk management approaches.
• Contribute to business development activities including proposals, presentations, and thought leadership.
• Prepare high-quality reports and presentations that clearly communicate risk management outcomes, findings and strategic insights.

People and Practice Development

• Supervise, mentor, and develop staff across multiple engagement teams.
• Support capability development and knowledge sharing within the Risk Transformation and wider Risk Consulting practice.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of IRM methodologies, tools, and templates.
• Promote innovation and the use of digital audit tools, analytics, and technology-enabled assurance approaches.

Technical and Strategic Contribution

• Apply a sound understanding of governance, risk and compliance frameworks and methodologies
• Provide subject matter expertise on risk and compliance maturity assessment, operating model design, frameworks and implementation.
• Lead or support transformation programs to uplift risk and compliance functions, including strategy development and future state design.
• Collaborate with other EY service lines (e.g. Business Consulting, Process & Controls, Technology Risk, Cyber Security, ESG) to deliver fit-for-purpose risk and compliance operating model design and implementation.

Skills and attributes for success

• Proven specialist expertise relevant to the role (governance, risk management, compliance, professional services)
• Experience leading and developing high-performing teams through coaching, inclusion, and collaboration.
• Experience in operating in alignment with risk and compliance standards and methodologies which may include ISO 31000 (Risk Management), COSO Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), ASX Corporate Governance Principles and Recommendations, the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Three Lines Model, ISO 37301 (Compliance Management Systems), ISO 27001 (Information Security Management), ISO 22301 (Business Continuity Management), ISO 9001 (Quality Management), NIST Cybersecurity Framework, COBIT, APRA Prudential Standards, and relevant regulatory and legislative obligations.
• Assignment delivery - requirements, performance and presentation of results and outcomes.
• Business development, opportunity management, account and relationship management to build pipeline.
• Leadership - Problem solving and decision making, performance management, coaching and mentoring

• A tertiary qualification relevant to the role (Commerce, Risk Management, Business, Law etc)
• Knowledge processes - knowledge gathering and sharing
• Risk management - quality and risk management
• Technical expertise - business planning, analysis, modelling, interpretation of data
• Excellent communication and report writing skills
• Experienced in engaging with and presenting to senior stakeholders, including Board members and senior executives.
