2027 Graduate | Strategy | Auckland

Company Description

By starting your career at Deloitte, you are joining a community of extraordinary professionals who put ‘making an impact’ at the heart of what they do. With our global reach, unwavering support, inclusive atmosphere, and cutting-edge technology, you'll have the opportunity to evolve into your fullest potential.

A graduate role at Deloitte is the perfect introduction to your first full-time permanent role in a business. You start with a cohort of people just like you, who have recently completed their studies, and get hands-on experience and support to apply your tertiary learnings in a real-world context. People at Deloitte are the best at what they do and learning from high-performers is a fantastic way to kickstart your growth and career.

Deloitte is committed to staying at the forefront of innovation, including the integration and responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) in our solutions. We value adaptability and a growth mindset, recognising that AI is transforming the way organisations operate. By joining us, you’ll have the opportunity to develop skills that prepare you for the future of work and contribute to shaping how technology drives meaningful impact.

Graduates at Deloitte have a week-long induction to learn about the business, get paired with a buddy and coach to help them find their place in the team, and build connections with almost 200 other graduates doing the exact same thing! You are not on a ‘programme’ and instead inducted into the business as a key member of the team from day one. Once you sign your contract with Deloitte, you will start in February the year following. Between the application process and your start-date, we have many events and touchpoints, so you feel part of the Deloitte whānau before your first day and are greeted with friendly faces.

If you are interested in pursuing a professional qualification, Deloitte support this through paid study leave, subsidised courses, and training from senior members of the team. There are also many learning and development opportunities offered to our graduates outside of the professional qualification realm.

Job Description

Shape decisions that shape New Zealand.

Our Strategy team partners with leaders across the public and private sector to solve their most significant challenges from economic transformation and sustainability, to commercial strategy, investment decisions and future-facing policy. We work with organisations to define where they need to go next, and build the roadmap to get them there.

As a Graduate Consultant, you’ll be part of a team that tackles high-impact, high-complexity problems from day one. You’ll work across Strategy, Commercial Advisory, Sustainability and Economics, giving you a unique opportunity to explore different disciplines while building a powerful, future-proof analytical skillset.

What you’ll do:

You’ll dive straight into real projects that influence how NZ’s major organisations make decisions. In a typical week, you might:

• Break down complex strategic questions and develop insights that guide executive decisions
• Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to uncover trends, commercial value, economic impacts or future risks
• Help build investment cases, commercial strategies, sustainability pathways, or system-level transformation programmes
• Contribute to client discussions by preparing sharp, persuasive material for senior leaders
• Work in small, agile teams where you’ll have real ownership and visibility from the outset
• Participate in interviews and workshops with stakeholders to understand root causes and co-design solutions
• Collaborate across Deloitte to bring leading thinking, innovation and global perspectives to your clients

Because our teams are intentionally small, you’ll be front-and-centre, not observing from the sidelines. You’ll be trusted early and supported to grow quickly both as an analyst and as a strategic thinker.

Qualifications

Who you are:

You’re someone who is energised by tackling big, meaningful challenges. You:

• Think critically and enjoy dissecting complex problems
• Communicate clearly, logically and with influence
• Enjoy working with data and can translate analysis into insight
• Have demonstrated leadership or initiative
• Have an excellent academic record
• Are ambitious, driven and want to make a real impact for your clients, your team and your career

Why Strategy at Deloitte?

You’ll join a team that values curiosity, rigour and creativity. You’ll be surrounded by people who are passionate about solving problems that matter for New Zealand - from investment decisions that shape our infrastructure, to strategies that enable a more sustainable and resilient future.

This isn’t a back-office graduate role. It’s an opportunity to be part of consequential work from day one.
