We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern in our Brooklyn Park, MN Location.
All applicants for placement in safety-sensitive positions will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug test.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support On-Premises Projects and Operations Group efforts in deploying quantum computers
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists to improve Quantinuum’s ability to build, deploy, and/or maintain complex systems
- Assist with mechanical design, analysis, and problem-solving for deployed systems and equipment
- Create and maintain CAD models, detailed engineering drawings, and assembly documentation
- Apply engineering fundamentals to troubleshoot technical challenges and recommend solutions
YOU MUST HAVE:
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree Program
- Required: Graduating on/after 2027
- Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person. defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
- Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.
WE VALUE:
- Strong problem-solving skills with a willingness to troubleshoot complex multidisciplinary systems
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience with CAD software such as Onshape
- Hands-on experience designing, fabricating, or assembling mechanical systems in a laboratory, research, academic, or industry setting
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, GD&T, and design for manufacturing principles
- Experience with rapid prototyping tools such as 3D printing
- Ability to apply engineering tools and methodologies (e.g., FEA, thermal, stress, EMI analysis) to solve technical problems
- Programming or scripting experience (Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar) for analysis
