ABOUT THE ROLE
A leading, internationally accredited healthcare provider in the UAE is expanding its general, laparoscopic and emergency surgical services and is seeking an experienced Consultant General Surgeon to join its clinical team.
The role offers an opportunity for an internationally trained surgeon to work within a modern, quality-driven multispecialty healthcare environment serving a diverse patient population. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive surgical care while working closely with multidisciplinary teams and maintaining high standards of patient-centred care.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The successful candidate will work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary surgical environment supported by experienced consultants, nurses, allied health professionals and modern diagnostic and treatment facilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assess and manage patients requiring elective and emergency general surgical care.
• Perform open and laparoscopic surgical procedures according to clinical expertise and facility privileges.
• Provide comprehensive perioperative care, including preoperative assessment, postoperative management and complication management.
• Conduct surgical ward rounds and provide appropriate outpatient follow-up.
• Collaborate with anaesthesia, intensive care, radiology, gastroenterology, oncology and emergency medicine teams.
• Contribute to efficient surgical pathways, operating theatre workflow, infection prevention and patient safety initiatives.
• Maintain accurate informed consent records, operative notes, discharge summaries and other clinical documentation.

• American Board of Surgery
• UK CCT / FRCS General Surgery
• European Board or National Specialist Certification
• Royal College Certification, Canada
• Australian FRACS
• Arab Board
• MS / DNB / FCPS or an equivalent recognised specialist qualification
Candidates from the USA, UK, Europe, Canada, Australia, India, the Middle East, Africa and South America may be considered, subject to eligibility for UAE medical licensing and the healthcare facility's credentialing requirements.
