ZS’s SCM Manufacturing & Quality group partners with clients to design and deliver solutions that help them tackle a broad range of business challenges. Our teams work on multiple projects simultaneously, leveraging advanced data analytics and problem-solving techniques. Our recommendations and solutions are based on rigorous research and analysis underpinned by deep expertise and thought leadership.
As an EDGE Analyst II, you will help clients across regulated and complex manufacturing industries improve plant performance. You will combine hands-on manufacturing knowledge with data analytics to diagnose performance, size opportunities and build the case for change, working alongside experienced consultants and client site teams.
What you’ll do
- Support consulting engagements focused on process design, operational optimization and performance improvement across drug substance and drug product manufacturing
- Collect, clean and analyze operational and quality data (e.g., OEE, yield, cycle time, right-first-time, deviations) to identify losses, bottlenecks and improvement opportunities
- Build analytical models (capacity, throughput, line utilization, cost of quality) and turn results into clear, client-ready storylines and deliverables
- Prepare and co-facilitate client workshops and site visits, gathering inputs from production, quality, engineering and supply chain teams and synthesizing findings
- Contribute to analyses on tech transfer, scale-up and capacity expansion options
- Work with data from MES, LIMS, QMS, SAP, historians and automation systems to define KPIs and support digital and smart manufacturing use cases
- Contribute to practice development through research, points of view and reusable tools
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electronic, Industrial or Bio/Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology,
- 2-4 years of experience in process engineering, MSAT, production, validation/quality or operational excellence within pharma, biotech or related regulated process industries, or in operations consulting with exposure to these industries
- Working knowledge of cGMP and quality systems (deviations, CAPAs, change control) and how they affect manufacturing performance
- Strong quantitative skills and advanced Excel; experience with Power BI/Tableau, SQL, Python or R is a plus
- Exposure to Lean / Six Sigma tools is a plus
- Clear, structured written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting findings to client stakeholders
- Professional fluency in English is a plus
- Client-first mentality, strong ownership and work ethic, collaborative spirit and a problem-solving approach
