Are you an engineering leader who knows how to build strong teams and get the most out of them? Do you have a track record of turning talent, tools, and process improvements into real gains in delivery speed and quality? Are you ready to lead engineering talent strategy for a large, global technology platform that supports clients around the world? If so, come join the world's leading professional services firm!
Work you'll do
The Senior Manager of Engineering for the Global Employer Services Technology Center leads engineering talent, productivity, and capability across multiple product teams supporting our GlobalAdvantage (GA) platform. The role is a member of our product leadership team and works horizontally across teams to elevate and accelerate engineering outcomes. This leadership role has visibility across all technical domains and provides a direct hand in deciding where engineering talent will deliver the most value.
The Engineering Manager owns the people side of delivery: productivity, capability, development, and deployment. This role is built on close partnership with product leads, architects, principal engineers, TPOs, and engineering leads. The outcomes driven by this role include identifying where the organization should invest in tooling, talent, skills development, and improved operating practices.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Assessing engineering productivity, capability, workload, and skill coverage across product groups through 1:1 conversations and software development lifecycle metrics
- Partnering with Product Owners and technical leaders to spot delivery trends and patterns, and proposing the development, allocation, process, or tooling improvements
- Building and running hiring, coaching, upskilling, and talent-allocation plans
- Tracking how these investments are improving delivery speed while maintaining quality, maintainability, and engineering standards
- Facilitating decisions across product teams as a partner to each team, with accountability for talent outcomes across the full portfolio
A successful candidate would bring these skills:
- Experience leading engineering teams across multiple product groups
- Direct, hands-on experience hiring, developing, managing the performance of, and allocating engineering talent
- Implementing and leveraging engineering productivity metrics to guide real decisions, not just report on activity
- Experience leading distributed and global engineering teams
- Strong influence skills for a matrixed organization, where product, architecture, delivery, and people responsibilities are distributed
- Enough technical depth to test assumptions, understand delivery constraints, and work as a credible partner to Architects and Principal Engineers
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder-management skills
