Stock Controller - Suame Maakro (Kumasi)
M-KOPA · Kumasi, Ghana · 12h ago
We are looking for a Stock Controller to join our Retail Department; as we scale up and drive digital and financial inclusion across our markets.
About M-KOPA
M-KOPA exists to extend financial access to people who've never had it. Across Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa, we've built a business that has unlocked more than $2 billion in credit — not for people who already had options, but for the 55% of our customers who were accessing formal financial services for the very first time. The result? 86% report a meaningful improvement in their quality of life.
That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because the operation behind it works the right product, in the right place, at the right time. Every single day.
Role Overview
As Stock Controller within our Retail department, you'll be the operational heartbeat of the depot — managing stock allocation, reconciliation, and returns while ensuring the physical inventory behind our customer promises is always accurate, tracked, and accounted for. You'll also be the first line of resolution when products need troubleshooting or warranty repairs, bridging the gap between customers, the sales team, and the warehouse.
What you'll actually be doing
As Stock Controller within our Retail department, you'll be the operational heartbeat of the depot — managing stock allocation, reconciliation, and returns while ensuring the physical inventory behind our customer promises is always accurate, tracked, and accounted for.
Stock allocation, reconciliation, and audits — Receive, allocate, and reconcile stock for sales activities, conduct regular audits, and ensure all inventory is accurately tracked across systems and reports — catching discrepancies early and resolving them fast.
Inventory tracking, returns, and depot standards — Oversee end-to-end inventory movement including timely returns to the warehouse, and maintain the depot to a consistently high physical standard that reflects M-KOPA's operational culture.
Customer interaction, reporting, and issue resolution — Troubleshoot product issues, coordinate in-warranty repairs, and handle customer interactions with care and efficiency — while producing daily stock status reports that keep the whole operation visible and accountable.
Why this role is worth your attention;
Growth that's real. M-KOPA is expanding across six markets. A Stock Controller who performs well here has a realistic path into supply chain, operations management, or logistics leadership — in a way a smaller or stagnant company simply can't offer. We promote from within, and we're building the kind of operation that needs strong people to grow into bigger roles.
Tech exposure that sets you apart. We operate with systems and data infrastructure that most local competitors haven't caught up to yet. If you're ambitious about building your technical operations skillset — in inventory systems, data reporting, and supply chain tools — this is the environment to do it in.
Stability with a mission behind it. A lot of operations professionals move around chasing marginal salary increases. M-KOPA offers something harder to find: a well-funded, stable organization with a mission that actually means something. When you tell someone, you manage stock for a company that's given $2 billion in credit to people who had no other options — that lands differently.
What You'll Need
Demonstrable experience in stock management or a customer-facing operations role, ideally within a retail or logistics environment
Strong command of Excel and the ability to analyze stock data, identify trends, and act on discrepancies with precision
A college diploma or degree in a relevant field, paired with sharp attention to detail and a genuine commitment to accuracy in everything you touch
If you're looking for a role where your precision contributes to something bigger than a spreadsheet — let's talk. Rove as a subject matter expert.
