MetLife Data & Analytics organization is the team of expert analysts and technologists responsible for building big data platforms and data services with innovative technologies to enable MetLife businesses to generate insights and value for its customers. The team is the center of excellence in data engineering at MetLife. It plays a key role in data enablement through multiple data stores, supporting different kinds of analytical use cases to be able to derive predictive, prescriptive, and descriptive insights.
MetLife is seeking an experienced Lead Data Management Consultantfor the Engagement StrategyTeam within theUS Business Data and Analytics Organization.The Lead Data Management Consultant will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing multiple complex data and analytics solutions. Serves as the data expert and is responsible for backlog refinement, sizing, leading solutioning, and leadingplanning & delivery of the prioritized features. The individual will collaborate with all the project stakeholders (technical leads, build team, project managers, and business/operations teams) to deliver solutions across the use cases and lead the Scrum and ART Planning ceremonies.
- Responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing multiple and complex Data and Analytics solutions across Data and BI.
- Leads and consults with expert technical knowledge on the database design, implementation, integration, and support of data and Analytics solutions.
- Oversee team priorities and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Lead backlog/feature refinement to define future enhancements.
- Lead Daily Scrum Calls and ART/Agile ceremonies.
- Works on strategic enterprise initiatives (facilitation, strategic analysis, etc.)
- Create, refine, prioritize, and maintain the Product Backlog to maximize return on investment (ROI) and deliver high-value features.
- Responsible for consulting IT and business management on applying business systems analysis methodology and techniques to business opportunities across ultiple projects.
- Understand the true problem statement/requirements of the business and be able to propose multiple solution options.
- Work closely with the ETL, BI and data science teams to review the requirements and data integrations.
- Work with IT, business, and architects to develop and design requirements to formulate technical design.
- Skills to understand the right functional domain knowledge of the business to be able to gather the right requirements for the design.
- Leading the activities to capture metadata, data lineage, reference data management, and data quality rules as part of data governance.
- Lead the team, including stakeholders, spread across the globe in driving the delivery of projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline.
- 10+ years of development experience, working as a Product Owner, Tech Lead, Scrum Master, or Agile Project Manager in a data management/engineering organization.
- Extensive experience leading Agile teams and respective scrum ceremonies.
- Extensive experience in data analysis and data modeling (table design).
- Exceptional stakeholder management, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience writing functional requirements, high-level design documents, data-flow diagrams, etc.
- Analytical skills to analyze situations and develop an optimal and efficient solution based on requirements.
- Extensive data analysis and profiling skills. Strong analytical skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
- SQL knowledge and data analysis skills for anomaly detection and quality assurance.
- Ability to interact with senior leadership teams in IT and business.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong leadership and negotiation skills.
- Ability to use approved AI tools to support routine tasks such as drafting, summarizing, organizing information, and improving day-to-day efficiency.
- Experience working on DataLake using BigData & Azure ecosystems.
- Strong background or working experience in Insurance Industry.
- Ability to interact with senior leadership teams in IT and business.
The expected salary range for this position is 105,400 - 140,500. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
