Senior Software Engineer-Project Solara
Microsoft · Washington, United States · 14h ago
Help build the next generation of computing with Project Solara, a new chip-to-cloud platform for agent-first devices. Project Solara brings together software, hardware, cloud services, and AI to enable specialized device experiences shaped around people, their agents, their tasks, and their environments.
The Applied Sciences Group (ASG) is the multidisciplinary product engineering, research, and incubation team developing Project Solara and transforming this vision into working devices and product experiences. As a Senior Software Engineer on the ASG team, you will design, implement, and integrate software across Android-based devices and embedded platform components. You will apply deep knowledge of device hardware, wireless technologies, and system protocols to deliver reliable connectivity and enable new device capabilities.
You will work across operating-system, firmware, hardware, driver, and service boundaries, with particular emphasis on technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy, USB, audio, sensors, and related device interfaces. You will collaborate with internal engineering teams, silicon partners, original equipment manufacturers, and component vendors to bring up hardware, diagnose complex system-level issues, improve platform architecture, and move device changes from design through validation and release.
Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees, we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day, we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
