WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You’ll join our Technology Services Group team in GBS Warsaw. This team supports Bain’s global business through technology products and services that help our teams work more effectively and deliver impact for clients. You’ll collaborate with colleagues across functions, geographies, and seniority levels, partnering closely with product owners, engineering teams, senior stakeholders, vendors, Legal, Risk, Procurement, and other technology teams
WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM
The Manager, Product Design, is a design leader within the Design team, whose mission is to drive better and faster results for Bain consultants and clients through AI-powered digital products embedded in Bain’s consulting solutions. In this role, the Manager leads design across complex product experiences and workstreams, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders to translate customer needs, business priorities, product/data requirements, and technical capabilities into cohesive experience direction.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Manager applies advanced functional and technical design expertise, including strong fluency in AI-enabled and human-agent experiences, to shape product direction, bring structure to ambiguous problems, and drive high-quality execution from discovery through delivery. The Manager may also guide, mentor, or manage other designers.
Design Strategy & Delivery (60%)
• Lead end-to-end design across complex product experiences and workstreams, translating user needs, business priorities, product/data requirements, and technical capabilities into cohesive experience direction.
• Define and evolve interaction patterns, information architecture, and design system application to ensure scalable, consistent experiences.
• Lead the design of AI-enabled and human-agent experiences, balancing usability, transparency, user trust, uncertainty, and appropriate human control.
• Guide design execution from early concepts through engineering implementation, ensuring quality and coherence across workstreams.
Research & Discovery (20%)
• Define research approaches that clarify complex problem spaces, validate hypotheses, and inform product direction.
• Lead research and usability testing; synthesize qualitative and quantitative insights into recommendations that influence priorities and design decisions, including how users understand and respond to AI-generated outputs.
• Facilitate alignment and working sessions to align teams around user needs, opportunities, and solution direction.
Cross-Functional Partnership & Product Impact (20%)
• Partner with Product, Engineering, AI/ML, and business stakeholders to shape product direction, priorities, and scope while balancing user value, business objectives, and technical feasibility.
• Bring structure to ambiguous problems, identify trade-offs, and communicate clear design recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Guide or mentor other designers as needed and contribute reusable patterns, tools, and AI-enabled ways of working that strengthen design capability.
• Deep expertise in modern product design methods, systems, and tooling, including emerging AI-assisted design and development workflows.
• Strong strategic and systems thinking; able to rapidly synthesize complex business, technical, data, and AI context and identify implications for the product and user experience.
• Strong planning and prioritization judgment, anticipating dependencies, risks, and capacity needs across complex workstreams.
• Demonstrated leadership capability, including setting direction, raising the quality bar, coaching others, and creating clarity in ambiguous or evolving environments.
• Proactively evaluates emerging AI capabilities, tools, and interaction models and translates relevant advances into improved design approaches and ways of working.
• Significant product design experience leading complex product experiences or interconnected workstreams, including AI/ML-enabled features or products.
ABOUT YOU
• Associate’s/bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• 5–7 years of relevant experience in product design, technology, or a related field.
• Experience contributing to product and experience strategy for complex, data-rich or AI-powered digital products.
• Experience guiding or mentoring other designers; direct management experience, a plus.
• Experience working within agile product development environments.
• Experience using GenAI-powered design, prototyping, and product development tools effectively (e.g., Figma, Miro, Claude Design, Claude Code, Cursor, v0, GitHub).
• Experience designing complex human-agent interactions or AI-enabled workflows, a plus.
WORKING MODEL
This role is based in GBS Warsaw and follows a hybrid working model, with a minimum expectation of two days per week in the office. Working model details will be confirmed as part of the recruiting process.
