This role provides technical and operational leadership for Tier III production support of mission-critical applications. The PROJECT - Engineering Manager II leads day-to-day production support activities, including application and job monitoring, incident and request management, technical troubleshooting, and coordination of production issues. This role analyzes complex application, database, infrastructure, and integration issues; identifies potential root causes; drives or coordinates remediation; and escalates issues to the appropriate technical teams when needed. The role also serves as a technical escalation point during critical production incidents and partners with end users, technical teams, project leadership, and client stakeholders to communicate impacts, risks, workarounds, status, and resolution plans. In addition, this role supports the management, development, and training of team members.

- Leading Tier III production support for mission-critical applications and scheduled jobs across a complex technical environment
- Managing incidents, service requests, escalations, and high-priority production issues through resolution
- Troubleshooting complex application, database, infrastructure, and integration issues to identify root causes and remediation steps
- Coordinating with development, database, infrastructure, and network teams to resolve production issues and reduce operational risk
- Communicating production impacts, status, risks, workarounds, and resolution activities to end users, project leadership, and client stakeholders

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree
- 6+ years of experience supporting production applications, enterprise systems, or technology operations environments
- 3+ years of experience leading production support teams, technical workstreams, or incident response activities
- Experience with incident management, operations management, and root cause analysis
- Experience troubleshooting application, database, infrastructure, and system integration issues
- Experience using Structured Query Language (SQL) for analysis, troubleshooting, or support activities
- Ability to travel 30%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting mission-critical applications in a government or public sector environment
- Experience coordinating cross-functional technical teams during high-priority production incidents
- Experience monitoring scheduled jobs, application performance, and operational health metrics
- Experience communicating technical issues, risks, and remediation plans to client stakeholders and project leadership
- Experience developing, coaching, or training support team members
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Virginia, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to Virginia and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $137,500 to $229,100.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
