NX Developer
Anduril · Atlanta, United States +1 · 6h ago
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
About the Team
The Engineering Systems and Tools team designs, builds, and maintains internal systems, applications, and infrastructure across the enterprise. We are looking for an NX Developer to join our team and develop customizations, automation, and administrative tooling for our Siemens NX CAD environment.
About the Role
Anduril's engineers design and build autonomous systems that protect those who serve. Behind every model, drawing, and assembly is the Siemens NX environment that makes rapid iteration possible. As an NX Developer on the Engineering Systems and Tools team, you'll be the person who makes that environment faster, smarter, and more reliable — building custom automation, tooling, and integrations that let our mechanical and electrical engineers focus on the work that matters instead of fighting their tools. You'll write real code (NXOpen API, Python, C++), own the full lifecycle of internal developer tools, and work directly with the engineers who depend on them. This isn't IT support - it's product development for an internal user base that's building things that actually matter.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain NX Open API customizations (NX Open C/C++, NX Open Python, NX Open .NET) to automate repetitive design tasks and enforce engineering standards
- Build and manage NX CAD administrative tools including templates, part families, reuse libraries, and check-mate rules to ensure consistency across the engineering organization
- Create custom NX dialogs, menus, and toolbars that streamline workflows for mechanical and electrical design teams
- Develop journal-based automation scripts and NX Open applications to accelerate modeling, drafting, and BOM generation processes
- Collaborate with PLM engineers to ensure seamless NX–Teamcenter integration in managed mode, including classification, naming rules, and revision workflows
- Work with a high-functioning team of solution engineers and cross-functional teams with an emphasis on finishing business-critical projects
- Help troubleshoot NX technical issues including those related to deployment, site configuration, custom toolkit distribution, and ongoing end-user support
Who You Are:
Anduril is an extremely fast-paced defense technology startup that is rapidly scaling itself. Our culture is one of ambition, hard work, relentless pursuit of excellence, and deliberate disruption. The successful candidate will be one who demonstrates the follow core characteristics:
- Outcome-Oriented - they determine what benefits the business needs and work backwards from those outcomes. The antiquated IT concept of “system availability” is abhorrent to the ideal candidate, they care about if the business actually got value from their product, not if it was just made to specification
- Customer Focused - they display user empathy to boost engagement and build experiences that delight
- Strong Product Sense - they know when in the product’s lifecycle to focus on optimizing the end user experience and when to focus on enterprise-level functionality
- Dive Deep - they sweat the details and roll up their sleeves to uncover the root causes for systemic issues, be it technical shortfalls or lack of user comprehension of a product
- Ownership - they care deeply not just about their products, but for all the business outcomes that their systems supports as well, holding themselves accountable for everything it both does and fails to do
- Agility - they change directions easily and without regret, quickly adapting to shifting business priorities
- First Principles Thinking - they approach problems and develop solutions not based on what a vendor recommends or because it’s how they did things at their last job, but from a deep appreciation of what is best for the enterprise
- Exceptional strategic problem-solving capabilities - adept at navigating complex technical trade-offs
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a CAD development role, ideally in a fast-paced engineering or manufacturing environment
- Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical degree
- Proficiency in NX Open API development using one or more of: C/C++, Python, Java, or .NET (C#/VB.NET)
- Hands-on experience with NX CAD administration including templates, drafting standards, part families, reuse libraries, and role-based configurations
- Experience creating and maintaining NX journaling scripts and custom automation toolkits
- Strong understanding of CAD data management concepts including naming conventions, revision control, and BOM structures
- Ability to empathize with end-users, to turn needs into features, and to balance user experience with engineering constraints
Preferred QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Siemens Teamcenter integration in NX managed mode, including classification, workflows, and naming rules
- Familiarity with NX Check-Mate for automated design validation and quality checks
- Experience with NX deployment and site-level configuration (ugii_env, custom directories, toolkit distribution)
- Knowledge of GRIP or KF (Knowledge Fusion) programming within NX
- Experience integrating CAD tools with downstream systems (PLM, ERP, MES, etc.)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, resolve user issues, and work autonomously to solve problems
