WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You will be part of the Media team within Bain’s Telecommunications, Media & Technology (TMT) Center of Expertise (CoE), working alongside a group of professionals passionate about solving complex management challenges for clients and shaping Bain’s perspectives on the rapidly evolving Media & Entertainment industry.
The team works at the heart of the Media & Entertainment ecosystem, partnering with Bain case teams globally on high-impact strategic questions for some of the industry’s most influential companies. Our recent work spans global leaders across film and television studios, streaming and broadcasting, gaming and interactive entertainment, sports and diversified media and entertainment - giving team members exposure to iconic businesses, rapidly evolving business models, and some of the most exciting questions shaping the future of entertainment.
Bain’s Media practice is experiencing significant momentum and growing rapidly, creating an opportunity to work at the forefront of emerging themes across the industry. Beyond client engagements, you will help build Bain’s intellectual property and industry perspectives from the ground up. Recent topics have included assessing how media consumption varies across countries and markets - across video, gaming, live events, and other forms of entertainment.
As an Analyst, you will be a key contributor on BCN cases, working closely with Associates, Project Leaders, and Bain case teams to conduct research and analysis, develop insights, and translate them into high-quality deliverables. You will have opportunities to work across a variety of strategic questions, progressively take greater ownership of your analyses, and develop deep expertise in the Media & Entertainment sector.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Take responsibility for assigned analyses and defined pieces of work, delivering high-quality output against agreed timelines.
- Conduct structured research and quantitative and qualitative analysis across Media & Entertainment topics, and translate findings into meaningful insights.
- Support analyses across areas such as market sizing, competitive dynamics, consumer behavior, company benchmarking, content trends, business models, and emerging industry themes.
- Leverage Excel, PowerPoint, industry databases, and other relevant analytical tools to develop robust analyses and clear, professional deliverables.
- Work closely with Associates, Project Leaders, Media experts, and Bain case teams globally to refine analyses and contribute to the broader case answer.
- Apply appropriate quality checks and business judgment, and proactively flag questions or roadblocks to keep work on track.
- Contribute to Bain’s Media intellectual property and thought leadership, including proprietary analyses, industry databases, perspectives, and published research.
- Take ownership of your professional development by actively seeking and acting on feedback and progressively building your problem-solving, communication, and Media sector capabilities.
- Contribute positively to a collaborative and high-performing team environment and role model Bain’s culture and values.
ABOUT YOU
- Graduate with a strong academic record and 0–6 months of relevant experience; prior exposure to research, analytics, consulting, or Media & Entertainment is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with quantitative and qualitative information and draw meaningful insights.
- Strong interest in developing expertise in the fast-evolving Media & Entertainment industry, including areas such as studios and content, streaming, gaming, broadcasting, sports, and emerging entertainment formats.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings in a clear and structured manner.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability and willingness to quickly learn new analytical tools and research sources.
- Fast and eager learner with strong learning agility, able to ramp up quickly on unfamiliar topics and adapt to evolving project needs.
- Collaborative and dependable team player with a strong can-do attitude and willingness to roll up your sleeves.
