WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You will be part of the Media team within Bain’s Telecommunications, Media & Technology (TMT) Center of Expertise (CoE), working alongside a group of professionals passionate about solving complex management challenges for clients and shaping Bain’s perspectives on the rapidly evolving Media & Entertainment industry.
The team works at the heart of the Media & Entertainment ecosystem, partnering with Bain case teams globally on high-impact strategic questions for some of the industry’s most influential companies. Our recent work spans global leaders across film and television studios, streaming and broadcasting, gaming and interactive entertainment, sports and diversified media and entertainment - giving team members exposure to iconic businesses, rapidly evolving business models, and some of the most exciting questions shaping the future of entertainment.
Bain’s Media practice is experiencing significant momentum and growing rapidly, creating an opportunity to work at the forefront of emerging themes across the industry. Beyond client engagements, you will help build Bain’s intellectual property and industry perspectives from the ground up. Recent topics have included assessing how media consumption varies across countries and markets - across video, gaming, live events, and other forms of entertainment
As an Associate, you will be a key contributor on BCN cases, driving analysis on complex workstreams with guidance from a Project Leader and progressively taking on greater ownership of problem solving, delivery, and stakeholder interactions. You will also have opportunities to guide and coach Analysts, contribute to content thought leadership, and develop deep expertise in the Media & Entertainment sector.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Take ownership of complex workstreams across Media & Entertainment engagements, driving them from problem definition through analysis, synthesis, and final output with guidance from Project Leaders and senior team members.
- Understand the client context and business problem and translate it into structured, hypothesis-driven research and analytical questions.
- Develop workplans, identify the right analytical approaches and information sources, and drive high-quality execution against case timelines.
- Conduct and guide analyses across topics such as market sizing, growth strategy, competitive dynamics, consumer behavior, content and portfolio strategy, business models, and emerging industry trends.
- Apply sound business judgment and reality checks to synthesize complex information into clear, pragmatic, and actionable insights and recommendations.
- Develop compelling, client-ready presentations and storylines that clearly communicate key insights, supporting evidence, and implications for the client.
- Collaborate closely with Bain case teams, Media experts, and senior stakeholders globally to pressure-test hypotheses, validate assumptions, and refine recommendations.
- Communicate insights and recommendations effectively in internal and client discussions and progressively take greater ownership of workstream meetings and stakeholder interactions.
- Guide and review work delivered by Analysts where relevant, ensuring timely, high-quality, zero-defect deliverables and providing actionable coaching and feedback.
- Proactively identify roadblocks, resolve issues where possible, and escalate challenges early to keep workstreams on track.
- Play an active role in developing Bain’s Media intellectual property and thought leadership, including proprietary analyses, industry perspectives, databases, and published research.
- Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team environment and act as a role model and brand ambassador for Bain’s culture.
