The Impact you will have in this role:
As an Associate on the PKI Engineering team, you will play a key role in supporting the organization's enterprise Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) services and Certificate Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms. You will help ensure the reliable issuance, renewal, revocation, and management of digital certificates that secure critical applications, infrastructure, users, and devices across the enterprise.
In this role, you will work closely with senior engineers, security teams, infrastructure teams, and application owners to maintain Certificate Authorities (CAs), automate certificate processes, and support the day-to-day operations of the organization's PKI ecosystem. Your contributions will help improve security, reduce operational risk, and enable business applications to operate securely and efficiently.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the administration, operation, and maintenance of enterprise Certificate Authorities (CAs) and PKI infrastructure.
- Manage certificate lifecycle activities, including certificate issuance, renewal, replacement, revocation, and validation.
- Administer and support Certificate Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms, ensuring accurate certificate discovery, monitoring, and automation.
- Assist application and infrastructure teams with certificate onboarding, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
- Monitor PKI and CLM environments to ensure system availability, performance, and compliance with operational standards.
- Troubleshoot certificate-related issues involving TLS/SSL, trust chains, certificate deployment, and cryptographic services.
- Support certificate automation efforts using tools such as PowerShell, APIs, Ansible, or other automation frameworks.
- Participate in disaster recovery testing, system maintenance, and platform upgrades.
- Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
- Partner with cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to implement secure certificate management practices.
- Assist with audits, compliance reviews, and evidence collection related to PKI controls and processes.
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in PKI and digital certificate management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
Talents Needed for Success:
- Strong experience with PKI platforms - CLM Systems, CAs, HSMs
- Experience with Ansible, Terraform, and PowerShell
- Deep understanding of TLS/SSL, X.509 certificates, and CRL/OCSP
- Proven PKI troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience with enterprise-scale PKI environments
- Knowledge of PKI governance and compliance
- Familiarity with mTLS and cryptographic trends (e.g., PQC)
