Databricks Developer Gurgaon, Haryana, India As part of the development and industrialization of solutions within the Global Data Platform (GDP), AXA Group Risk Management (GRM) is looking for a Databricks Developer specializing in Python (or R) and SQL, capable of contributing to the technical implementation of data processing solutions, software component development, and deliverable validation. The role is primarily execution-focused, covering code development, maintenance, optimization, and testing within a modern Databricks-based data environment. This new platform will centralize most GRM data applications: over 2026-2027 a large number of legacy applications (stand-alone vendor & in-house apps) must be transformed into R/Python codes and Databricks jobs & pipelines, then from 2027 onwards will need to be maintained and further developed to ensure GRM to fulfill its crucial risk management mission. The role is a key element of a specialized tech/data/AI pool managed by AXA XL ESS (India) dedicated to GRM (Paris, Winterthur, Madrid) activities. What you’ll be DOING What will your essential responsibilities include? Development and maintenance – main tools: Databricks, R/Python/SQL development suite, GenAI tools: Develop data processing solutions and application components on the Databricks platform. Design, code and maintain data pipelines in Python/R and SQL. Contribute to the migration and evolution of existing data processing solutions towards GDP standards. Fix defects and implement performance optimizations. Help maintain code quality and development best practices. Testing and quality – main tools: Databricks, GitHub: Design and execute unit, integration, and regression tests. Analyze test results and correct identified defects. Participate in code reviews and quality controls. Ensure development traceability and compliance with platform standards. Industrialization and support: Contribute to solution deployment and industrialization. Produce the technical documentation required to operate the developed components. Provide technical support for the developed solutions to the GRM end-users. Collaborate with GDP architects, Product Owners, and Data Engineering teams. You will report to Vice President, Group Services. What you will BRING We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills: Required Skills and Abilities: Excellent command of Python. Excellent command of R. Significant hands-on experience with Databricks, alternatively on other Data Platforms. Good understanding of modern data platform architectures. Robust knowledge of software development concepts, including version control, testing, and continuous integration. Knowledge of Git and DevOps practices. Robust SQL skills. Desired Skills and Abilities: Spark / PySpark. DeltaLake. Azure Data Platform. Azure DevOps or equivalent. Data Quality et DataOps. Knowledge of data governance principles.
