Do work that matters
Join our Risk Management team supporting Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFIs) and Funds Finance. This is an opportunity to build expertise in a highly specialised area of Institutional Banking while working alongside experienced risk professionals across Australia and international markets.
Your impact
You'll play a key role in reviewing and managing Credit Quality Indicator (CQI) assessments, our internal methodology used to determine the Probability of Default (PD) for subscription credit facilities provided to private funds.
Working closely with Line 1 Coverage teams and Line 2 Risk Executives, you'll develop an understanding of private fund structures, collateral arrangements and borrowing bases, while helping ensure transactions align with the Bank's Funds Finance policies and risk methodologies.
What you'll gain exposure to
You'll work across a diverse portfolio of private funds, institutional investors and specialised financing structures, while building expertise in:
- Funds Finance and subscription credit facilities
- Institutional Credit Risk
- NBFI clients and risk frameworks
- Sector analysis and portfolio reporting
- Transaction structuring and risk assessment
You'll also contribute to leadership reporting, portfolio analysis and process simplification initiatives that support informed decision-making across the business.
About the team
You'll join a highly collaborative global team responsible for the Line 2 oversight and risk management of IB&M activities across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe and North America. Working with colleagues across multiple regions, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of institutional clients and financing products.
Experience in NBFIs, Funds Finance, subscription credit facilities, NAV finance or structured hedging products is advantageous but not essential.
In any given week you will:
- Analyse, review and summarise CQIs for new transactions and annual reviews, providing guidance and communicating key insights to colleagues and stakeholders.
- Maintain and monitor the Bank's investor ratings database, ensuring consistency, accuracy and reliability.
- Conduct stress testing and provide analysis and reporting across the Funds Finance portfolio to support decision-making.
- Maintain Funds Finance guidelines and PD methodology documentation.
- Provide training and support to colleagues across Risk and Coverage teams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple regions and jurisdictions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including process, policy and procedure simplification projects.
- Be an active contributor to a highly collaborative team culture.
What will help you succeed in this role?
- Experience within a financial institution, with exposure to Credit Risk, Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Structured Finance, NBFIs or Funds Finance viewed favourably.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Familiarity with subscription credit facilities, Funds Finance products or external rating agency methodologies would be advantageous, but is not essential.
- Strong Excel capability and an interest in developing your broader data analysis skills.
- An analytical mindset and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- A willingness to develop and communicate well-reasoned, evidence-based risk decisions.
- Strong problem-solving capability and a desire to continuously learn and develop.
