Role Description
The Senior Server Engineer is a senior individual contributor responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of enterprise server infrastructure across Windows Server, Red Hat Linux, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery platforms. The role ensures platform stability, security, performance, lifecycle management, automation, troubleshooting, and operational excellence while partnering with application, security, operations, global technology, business, and vendor teams.
Key Responsibilities:
·Design, implement, operate, and improve enterprise server infrastructure across Windows Server, Red Hat Linux, VMware, Azure, storage, and backup/recovery platforms.
·Transform server operations, including provisioning, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, patching, upgrades, capacity planning, and performance tuning through automation and self-service capabilities.
·Ensure platform security, availability, compliance, reliability, and operational performance.
·Provide advanced troubleshooting and escalation support for Windows/Linux servers, virtualization, Azure, storage, backup, networking, and application-hosting issues.
·Perform root cause analysis, drive problem management activities, and implement long-term corrective actions.
·Implement security hardening, compliance remediation, access control improvements, and audit actions in partnership with Security and Risk teams.
·Develop automation scripts, runbooks, workflows, technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and knowledge articles.
·Collaborate with infrastructure, application, security, operations, business, global technology, and vendor teams to deliver secure and reliable services.

·Evaluate options, document risks, assumptions, and dependencies, maintain technical standards, and communicate requirements, design decisions, constraints, and trade-offs effectively.

Candidate Qualifications:
Education:
·Bachelor of Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
·Minimum 7 years of server engineering experience.
·Hands-on expertise with Windows Server, Red Hat Linux, VMware, Azure, storage, backup/recovery, virtualization, automation (PowerShell, Bash), performance tuning, and security hardening.
·Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and operational ownership skills.
Certification
·MS 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate or equivalent server/infrastructure management certification.
Language
·Business proficiency in Japanese; English proficiency is an advantage.
