What the day will look like Provide strategic asset allocation services: production and presentation of ALM studies for pension plans and, asset mix review for all kinds of institutional investors Responsible for providing investment consulting services (asset mix reviews, asset-liability studies, funding policy review, spending policy review, multifaceted investment strategies, etc.) and analytical support to a wide range of clients including defined-benefit and defined-contribution pension plans, foundations and endowment funds, insurance funds and other types of institutional investors; Capital Market Assumptions: update and develop for specific needs of Canadian clients LDI portfolio review Portfolio model: develop and update Provide technical expertise in improving and maintaining modelling and risk management tools; Participate in establishing implementation plans for various investment and risk reduction strategies; Coordinate client mandates, project workflow, and delivery of studies for our Canadian clients; Build and/or assist in presentations to clients or prospects, collaborating with a team or individually; Anticipate client issues, needs or concerns and proactively develop solutions to meet those needs; Collaborate with other colleagues on various mandates to achieve results. Our team is responsible for reviewing and recommending investment strategies and performing different asset allocation, risk and optimization analysis. Skills and experience that will lead to success Seven (7+) plus years of proven experience in retirement and/or investment consulting; Experience in asset-liability modelling and stochastic projections; Strong understanding of asset-liability relationship and investing; Knowledge of pension plan funding rules; Knowledge of capital markets and asset classes; Client relationship and presentation skills; Strong digital literacy; Skills and interest in programming (Visual Basic, Matlab, R …); Strong curiosity about investment and financial modelling; Strong skills for working in teams; Autonomous, dedicated and meticulous; Ability to balance multiple priorities and work under tight timelines; Designation of ASA, FSA or FICA of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries; CFA Charter-holder or currently pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst curriculum, or demonstrating equivalent experience; French / English bilingualism is required due to the frequent interactions with clients, colleagues, or partners based in Quebec, other Canadian provinces and/or internationally. Bachelor’s degree in actuarial sciences, mathematics, statistics or business (finance or economics). Aon supports candidates in the CFA program and actuarial exam process.
