Aon is looking for a US Health Analytics Models and Engineering Leader This is a hybrid role preferrably in Denver, Chicago, or Atlanta, with flexibility for other US Aon offices. Fully remote may be considered We are seeking a hands-on Health Analytics Models and Engineering leader to lead the development of analytics solutions, systems, and technology for Aon’s US Health Analytics practice. You will own the design, delivery, and quality of the models, analytics applications, and AI-enabled systems that power our benefits financial modeling – including risk simulations, underwriting models, financial analytics, network modeling, benchmarking, plan design and cost-sharing modeling, migration modeling and related capabilities. You will set technical direction, lead a team, and write and review production code, working closely with actuaries, consultants, Aon Business Solutions (ABS), technology architects, and offshore engineering teams. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of US Health experience, a track record of scaled model development using modern technologies, a deep understanding of US health data and employer benefits financial modeling, and a track record of building analytics applications end-to-end and leading technical teams. Experience translating actuarial and underwriting methods, peer review, and controls into well-engineered, maintainable code is essential. What a day will look like Lead analytics technical solution development and engineering, AI-enabled analytics solution development, and priority analytics roadmap workstreams for the US Health Analytics practice, setting technical direction while staying hands-on in writing, reviewing, and shipping production code Collaborate closely with Aon Business Solutions (ABS), technology architects, and offshore engineering teams to align on architecture, standards, and priorities, coordinate delivery across locations and time zones, and move models into scalable, supported production Design, build, and maintain modeling engines – simulations, underwriting and renewal tools, cost and risk modeling, reserving (IBNR), pricing and contribution setting, plan design valuations, and migration modeling – and extend them across domains such as Actuarial and Financial, Clinical and Pharmacy, Time Away Solutions, Audit, Network Analytics, and Consumer Benefits Partner with actuaries, consultants, and subject matter experts to turn actuarial and underwriting methods into tested, governed, and documented code with consistent assumptions and outputs Design and productionize AI systems and modular capabilities, including agent graphs, harness engineering, and orchestration, and advance AI-assisted development practices Own quality and reliability end-to-end through strong DevOps practices, including infrastructure as code, automated testing, model validation, and CI/CD Lead and coach technical colleagues, and run delivery through agile Scrum with clear priorities and objectives You Bring Knowledge and Expertise Minimum 8 years of experience in US Health & Benefits consulting, with a track record of delivering value to clients and colleagues Strong understanding of employer benefits financial modeling, including health risk, underwriting forecasting, trend and seasonality, reserving, pricing, plan design valuations, and migration modeling, and of actuarial techniques such as completion factors, credibility, and Monte Carlo simulation Expert knowledge of US health data, including benefit plan design, medical and pharmacy claims, eligibility, plan design, and benefits structure Deep experience building and scaling analytics applications end-to-end Experience partnering with enterprise technology and architecture teams and leading work with offshore or distributed engineering teams Experience designing and productionizing AI systems; familiarity with AI-assisted and autonomous development including GitHub Copilot and Claude Code. Experience leading technical teams, with strong agile Scrum and DevOps practices (infrastructure as code, testing, CI/CD, version control, Linux/WSL) Python, C#, and R mastery are required; Docker, Azure, Databricks, and Terraform experience a plus Ability to explain technical and modeling decisions clearly to actuaries, consultants, and non-technical audiences ASA or FSA credential is viewed as a strong plus Education Bachelor’s or master’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience For positions in San Francisco and Los Angeles, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction record in accordance with local Fair Chance ordinances. Pay Transparency Laws: The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $185,000 to $225,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
