Junior Platform Operations Engineer – Automation & Infrastructure as Code | SEB Life & Pension, Solna

At SEB Life & Pension, we operate business-critical platforms supporting our insurance and pension business. Our technical landscape includes around 150 container environments as well as Windows-based environments.

We are now looking for a Junior Platform Operations Engineer who wants to combine hands-on operations with engineering, automation and infrastructure as Code.

You do not need previous experience operating large-scale production environments. We are looking for technical curiosity, problem-solving ability and a strong desire to learn how complex systems work — and how they can be improved through engineering and automation.

About the role

The role combines hands-on operations with continuous improvement. Working closely with development teams and other engineers, you will help keep our platforms stable and reliable while making them easier to operate through automation, standardisedtooling and Infrastructure as Code.

Your work will span areas such as:

• Operating and supporting container-based and Windows environments

• Monitoring, troubleshooting and incident analysis

• Supporting deployments and releases

• Working with logs, metrics and observability

• Databases and SQL

• Automating recurring operational tasks

• Improving deployment and environment processes

• Moving configuration and infrastructure towards Infrastructure as Code

• Improving reliability, standardisation and operational efficiency

A key part of the role is to reduce repetitive manual work through automation, standardised tooling and infrastructure managed as software.

Who we are looking for

You may be a recent graduate or have up to a few years of professional experience. We believe you have a technical university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering Physics or a similar field. More important than the length of your experience is your curiosity and motivation to understand how systems behave in production.

We think you will enjoy this role if you:

• Like understanding how systems work under the hood

• Enjoy troubleshooting and solving difficult technical problems

• Like automation and finding ways to reduce manual work

• Are interested in containers, operating systems, infrastructure and networking

• Want to understand how business-critical systems behave in production

• Learn quickly and take responsibility

• Enjoy combining hands-on operations with engineering and continuous improvement

Your experience may come from university projects, a thesis, internships, personal technical projects or previous employment. Familiarity with technologies such as containers, Kubernetes, Windows, Linux, PowerShell, Python, SQL, Git or Terraform is an advantage, but we do not expect you to know them all. What matters most is a solid technical foundation and a strong willingness to learn.

Why join us?

This role offers the opportunity to build a strong technical foundation across operations, infrastructure, automation and software engineering. You will learn how large systems are deployed, monitored, troubleshot and kept reliable while helping us modernise and automate the way they are operated.

If you are curious, eager to learn and want to understand both software and the infrastructure it runs on, we would like to hear from you.

It is our fundamental belief that inclusion and diversity is crucial for our future success. We strive to have an inclusive, value-driven culture where employees feel valued, respected, and involved irrespective of who they are, what they believe or where they come from.

Since we select candidates continuously, feel free to send in your application today, but no later than 1st of November 2026.
