Junior Software Platform Engineer – AI & Automation | SEB Life & Pension, Solna

Are you a recent graduate or early in your career and excited about software engineering, automation, AI and modern development practices?

At SEB Life & Pension, we are modernising how software is built, tested and deployed. Around 25 development teams rely on the platforms, tooling and engineering capabilities we provide.

We are now looking for a Junior Software Platform Engineer who wants to help us improve and shape how software engineering is done at scale.

You do not need previous experience as a Platform Engineer. We are looking for technical curiosity, problem-solving ability and a strong desire to learn, experiment and improve the way software is developed.

About the role

You will join a team responsible for building and improving engineering capabilities used across our development organisation.

Working closely with development teams and other engineers, you will help create tooling, automation and platform capabilities that make software delivery faster, safer and easier.

Your work will span areas such as:

• CI/CD and deployment automation

• Engineering tooling and platform services

• Containers and Kubernetes-based environments

• Infrastructure as Code

• Automated testing, quality and security controls

• Standardisation and self-service for development teams

• AI-assisted and agentic software engineering

A particular focus for us is agentic engineering. We are exploring how AI coding agents, structured specifications, automated testing and engineering guardrails can work together as part of the software development lifecycle.

This is an area we are actively developing, giving you the opportunity to experiment, learn and help shape how these technologies are used across our organisation.

Who we are looking for

You may be a recent graduate or have up to a few years of professional experience. We believe you have a technical university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering Physics or a similar field.

More important than the length of your experience is your curiosity, technical foundation and motivation to learn.

We think you will enjoy this role if you:

• Like programming and solving technical problems

• Are curious about how modern software delivery works

• Enjoy automation and finding ways to reduce repetitive manual work

• Like experimenting with new technologies and approaches

• Want to understand how engineering platforms work at scale

• Enjoy collaborating with developers and other engineers

• Want to contribute to how engineering practices evolve and improve

Your experience may come from university projects, a thesis, internships, open-source contributions, personal technical projects or previous employment. Familiarity with technologies such as C#, Python, GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux or Terraform is an advantage, but we do not expect you to know them all. What matters most is a solid technical foundation and a strong willingness to learn.

Why join us?

This role offers the opportunity to develop broad skills across software engineering, automation, cloud-native technologies and AI-assisted development while working with real systems at scale.

The tooling and capabilities you help build can influence how around 25 development teams build and deliver software, meaning an improvement you create can have an impact far beyond your own team.

You will also join us at a time when we are increasing our use of automation and Infrastructure as Code while actively exploring how AI and agentic engineering can become part of everyday software development.

If you are curious, eager to learn and want to help shape how modern software engineering is done at scale, we would like to hear from you.
