We are looking for an experienced Consultant Critical Care Physician to join a leading healthcare facility in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have advanced expertise in managing critically ill patients, intensive care procedures, and complex life-threatening conditions, with a strong commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety, and multidisciplinary care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
- Manage patients with multi-organ failure, sepsis, septic shock, respiratory failure, and other life-threatening conditions.
- Provide advanced airway management, mechanical ventilation, and respiratory support.
- Perform and supervise critical care procedures, including endotracheal intubation, central venous catheterization, arterial line placement, and other invasive interventions.
- Manage patients requiring hemodynamic monitoring, vasopressor support, and advanced cardiovascular management.
- Diagnose and manage acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), severe infections, and complex metabolic disorders.
- Provide comprehensive care for post-operative, trauma, neurological, and medically complex ICU patients.
- Lead and coordinate resuscitation, emergency stabilization, and rapid response interventions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment, laboratory investigations, imaging, and continuous patient monitoring.
- Oversee sedation, analgesia, nutritional support, and infection prevention strategies in critically ill patients.
- Evaluate patients for renal replacement therapy and coordinate specialized organ-support treatments when required.
- Supervise ICU physicians, residents, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, pulmonologists, cardiologists, surgeons, nephrologists, neurologists, and other multidisciplinary specialists.
- Communicate effectively with patients' families regarding clinical conditions, treatment plans, prognosis, and critical care decisions.
- Ensure compliance with ICU protocols, infection control, clinical governance, and patient-safety standards.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, teaching, research, and CME activities.
Qualifications
- MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree.
- Recognized postgraduate qualification in Critical Care Medicine / Intensive Care Medicine or a recognized primary specialty with accredited subspecialty training in Critical Care.
- Board certification or equivalent recognized consultant qualification.
- Fellowship or advanced subspecialty training in Critical Care Medicine is highly desirable.
- Minimum 5–10 years of post-specialization experience, including substantial experience in intensive care medicine.
- Strong expertise in managing critically ill patients with complex medical and surgical conditions.
- Demonstrated competence in mechanical ventilation, advanced airway management, hemodynamic monitoring, and invasive ICU procedures.
- Experience managing high-acuity ICU patients and multidisciplinary critical care teams.
- Eligible for DHA Consultant classification/license in Dubai, subject to applicable qualification and experience requirements.
