About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

About the Role

We're looking for a Distinguished Solution Engineer to join Salesforce's UK Public Sector, leading on our most strategic accounts. This is a senior individual contributor role at the intersection of business consulting, technical credibility, and customer strategy - working with the UK's most significant Government organisations. The Public Sector differs from other industries, yet can benefit as much or even more from Salesforce technology and expertise - transforming the citizen experience and improving society.

You'll partner closely with the Account Team, Government CTO function, FDE organisation, product teams, and customers to shape how Salesforce's platform and AI capabilities can transform how the Public Sector engages with their citizens, businesses and drive operational change. You'll be a trusted advisor, a hands-on builder, and a commercial thinker - often in the same conversation.

This isn't a role for someone who presents slides and moves on. It's for someone who digs into the customer's world, earns the right to be in the room at senior levels, and turns complex problems into compelling, credible solutions. Modern citizen experiences rely on connected data, AI, automation, and digital engagement. These experiences require integrated architectures that leverage the breadth of the Salesforce Platform alongside enterprise applications, data platforms, integration technologies, and partner ecosystems - with your knowledge, experience and skill used to bring it to life.

What You'll Do

• • Lead technical and business discovery across our largest and most important public sector accounts - running workshops, stakeholder sessions, and structured problem-solving to uncover the real challenge behind the stated one.
  • Build trusted partnerships with Sales - acting as a genuine co-pilot to the Account Team, contributing commercial instinct alongside technical expertise, and showing up as a proactive, high-performing teammate in the deals that matter most.
  • Shape and deliver solution strategies that connect Salesforce's multi-product platform to the specific priorities of the UK Government’s largest organisations, supporting millions of citizens and tens of thousands of employees.
  • Build and demonstrate - whether that's a polished executive demo, a rapid prototype, or a hands-on proof of concept. You use working examples to make the story real.
  • Develop AI and data points of view relevant to the Public Sector context: agentic workflows, grounding and RAG architecture, Agentforce use cases, and how organisations can govern and scale AI responsibly within policy,  guidance and regulatory constraints.
  • Demonstrate value throughout the Government procurement process - working with senior technical stakeholders including C-suite, board-level sponsors and beyond to prove the value of the Salesforce platform across multiple lines of business
  • Orchestrate internal resources - coordinating and leading specialists, product SMEs, the builder organisation and delivery expertise at the right moments, and leaving teams better informed through what you share.
  • Contribute to the SE community — sharing knowledge, raising the bar on what good looks like, and helping develop the broader Global Public Sector SE capability.

• Required Skills

• • Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core proficiencies of the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)
  • Relevant 10+ years of experience in the IT Industry, either pre-sales or implementation of customer engagement solutions, supporting the sales cycle in selling CRM or high value business solutions.
  • Strong grasp of enterprise technology architecture: cloud platforms, APIs, integration patterns, data infrastructure, and identity/security considerations., with extensive experience designing solutions for complex business and technology environments.
  • Proven ability to engage at C-level with both business and technology audiences — adapting fluently between commercial framing and technical depth.
  • Excellent communication skills: structured, clear, and audience-aware. You write well, you present with conviction, and you know when to listen.
  • A working understanding of AI and its application in enterprise organizations - including how large language models, agentic workflows, and AI-driven automation are reshaping customer engagement, operations, and compliance. You don't need to be a data scientist, but you should be able to hold a credible conversation about what's possible and what's practical.

Preferred Qualifications

• • Hands-on experience with agentic AI tools and practices — Claude Code, Cursor, Agentforce, or equivalent — and the ability to build as well as advise.
  • Experience with Salesforce Industry Clouds, preferably Public Sector Solutions, Data Cloud, Salesforce Platform and the Agentforce AI platform.
  • Experience with design thinking, value-based selling, executive consulting, and enterprise transformation initiatives.
  • Salesforce certifications (Administrator, Platform Developer, AI Specialist or similar).
  • A track record of building or contributing to reusable assets — demo environments, competitive frameworks, industry-specific POVs — that elevate the team beyond a single deal.

What We're Really Looking For

You'll bring enough industry knowledge to be taken seriously in senior conversations, enough curiosity to keep learning as the landscape shifts, a proactive mindset and hands on attitude, delivering demos, prototypes as well as you would executive presentations, and enough clarity in how you communicate to make complex ideas land with any audience.

You'll do well here if you:

• • Prepare thoroughly - you think through the customer's world before you walk into it, and that preparation shows.
  • Build when it helps - you reach for a working example when words alone won't make the story real.
  • Earn trust steadily - through consistency, good judgement, and being someone colleagues and customers can rely on.
  • Collaborate openly - you bring others in at the right moments, share what you know, and make the team better for it.

We're looking for someone who's genuinely motivated by the work - the problem-solving, the craft of a well-built demo, the satisfaction of helping a customer see a better path forward.
