Sr Software Engineering Manager

Company Description

Veza(part of ServiceNow now) is the pioneer in identity security, purpose-built to answer the fundamental question enterprises face: who can and should take what action on what data. Veza's Access Graph platform maps an organization's entire identity ecosystem  across users, groups, roles, policies, permissions, and resources  providing deep visibility and control over human, non-human, and agentic identities across SaaS, cloud, on-prem, and custom applications. With over 30 billion access permissions under management, global enterprises including Blackstone, Expedia, and Wynn Resorts trust Veza to manage privileged access monitoring, non-human identity security, access entitlement management, and next-generation identity governance.

Founded in 2020 , Veza is now part of the ServiceNow family, with the acquisition closing in March 2026. The combination brings together Veza's AI-native Access Graph with ServiceNow's AI Control Tower and agentic workflows, enabling organizations to enforce end-to-end identity security rooted in the principle of least privilege across applications, data, cloud environments, and AI agents. For engineers joining Veza today, this means the scale and resources of an enterprise platform company, with the product velocity and mission-driven focus of a security innovator at a pivotal moment in the industry.

• Ensure the product is built and maintained with high performance, reliability, and observability, including logging, monitoring, and compliance requirements.
• Define and drive detailed engineering execution plans, timelines, and processes that keep the team shipping with quality and predictability.
• Shape our long-term agent identity security roadmap alongside the Product team and help define industry standards for discovering agents, auditing actions taken on agents, securing runtime authorization, and ensuring least privilege access management.

• Own the full talent lifecycle for the team - hiring, onboarding, retention, and performance.

Qualifications

Experience

• 10+ years of experience in backend software engineering with a strong focus on distributed systems, or identity security, and 4+ years in an engineering leadership role - ideally spanning both startup and enterprise SaaS environments.
• Experience integrating AI/ML models into product workflows, or leveraging AI to enhance product experience, or system intelligence at scale - strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with emerging AI technologies and frameworks, with a track record of driving AI adoption and leveraging AI-driven tools to enhance team productivity and engineering efficiency.
• Familiarity with IGA or how traditionals systems are evolving with Agents.
• Deep familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), distributed systems, and containerization technologies such as Kubernetes.
• Experience with authentication, authorization protocols, and IAM concepts — understanding how identity and access relationships are structured across complex enterprise environments.
• Hands-on engineering background with proficiency in one or more of Go, Java, or Python — comfortable diving into the codebase and engaging at a technical depth appropriate for a player-coach role.

Leadership

• Demonstrated ability to lead and grow a fully distributed, high-performing engineering team - hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and retaining strong engineers and tech leads.
• Strong organizational and project management skills - able to run multiple workstreams, maintain engineering cadence, and keep delivery on track without micromanaging.
• Clear, proactive communicator who can translate complex technical concepts for both engineering teams and senior leadership.

Who You Are

• Relentlessly high standards - never satisfied with the status quo, always looking for a better way.
• Able to dive deep without losing sight of the big picture - never out of touch with the technical details, never lost in them either.
