How you succeed
We are looking for a candidate with strong leadership and stakeholder management competencies to deliver effective, impactful outcomes on FCC policy and governance matters.
This is an ideal role for a compliance professional who finds satisfaction in contributing to OCBC Group’s efforts in combatting financial crime and safeguarding the banking group’s reputation. He/she will have the opportunity to shape and embed a strong financial crime risk culture across the bank and build a sustainable FCC framework that stands up to regulatory scrutiny while enabling business growth.
What you do
Act as secretariat for key financial crime compliance management and governance forums (including preparation of materials, papers, minutes, decision records and action logs) and contribute to effective Board and Senior Management oversight of the bank’s financial crime compliance programme.
Work with front office, 1.5 line of defence and FCC stakeholders, and provide subject matter expert views on risk assessments, identify gaps in control measures (if any) and put forth recommendations to ensure robust decision making at management/governance committee.
Ensure risk appetite as determined by the Board and Senior Management is cascaded, effectively implemented, and closely monitored at group-wide level in a risk appetite custodian role.
Provide advice to stakeholders on politically-exposed person (PEP)/geopolitical risks, performing horizon scanning risk surveillance work, assessing the bank's overall PEP risk exposures, and providing policy recommendations which outline ML/TF risk appetite and commensurate AML/CFT controls for core markets.
Perform regular assessments on core markets which pose higher geographic risks and propose appropriate, pragmatic risk mitigating measures in close collaboration with key stakeholders.
Perform emerging risk scanning responsibilities, trendspotting and monitoring work via the FCC risk heatmap, risk awareness/education initiatives and shaping AML/CFT policy and controls requirements in this evolving space.
Support enterprise-wide reviews/ programmes to effectively address identified risks with effective outcomes.
Promote a strong culture of financial crime risk awareness and individual accountability across the organization. This includes contributions to risk culture elevation initiatives targeted at the private banking business.
Prepare Group Compliance’s reporting to Board and Senior Management on significant financial crime compliance matters and key metrics covering risks as well as effectiveness indicators.
Contribute to strategic initiatives, projects and any other assignments as required.
Who you are
A degree in a relevant field, such as law, finance, or accounting.
At least 7 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with our teams.
Knowledge of anti-money laundering, counter-terrorism financing regulations, with experience in risk management and compliance.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
