The Hartford’s Information Protection (THIP) organization is looking for a talentedprofessionalto join a high-performing teamthat is charged with supporting and enhancing our corePaloAltoplatforms. As aSecurity Engineer, this positionwill be part of the primary technical team tasked with engineering andmaintainingour Palo Altoplatforms, specifically working onfirewall,web filtering, SSLDecryptionand overall system support and maintenance.The individual will have the opportunity to help shape the future direction and use of Palo Alto as currently deployed atthe Hartford. Additionally, the position will have broadaccountabilitiesaround currency,patchingand operational support metrics for Palo. This role will provide thought leadership, professionalsupportand valued contributions to a range of production support,developmentand project activities.  We are looking for an experiencedprofessional, whohas deep knowledge and skills acrossPalo Alro products, along with an understanding of industry best practices.The ideal candidate will have experience implementing and supportingPalo Alto technologiesin a cloud environment and have experience in both AWS and GCP.

The right person will develop a deep understanding of Palo’s usage and consumption, continuously advocate for automation and process efficiency, and where necessary challenge and influence management to take actions to appropriatelyutilizethe systems. The role is heavily focused on ensuring currency and stability in the environment. The right person will have a wide-ranging technical knowledge with a desire to learn and grow their technical skills across allfacetsof our Palo implementation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the technical design, implementation and operational support offirewalland related technologies in bothon-premisedata center and cloud-hosted deployments.

• A track recordin production support / system support activities

• Consult with business and vendor partners toassiston network connectivity dependencies and authorizations across the company’sfirewallsystems.

• Support application areas in responding to inquiriesregardingThe Hartford’spolicy controls.

• Respond to ad-hoc technical security consulting requests, including at times supporting teammates with security-related projects and support services

• Develop a dashboard to support ongoing analytics and metrics

• Identifyand assesses the severity and potential impact of risks

• Communicate risk assessment findings to risk owners outside Information Security in a way that consistently drives objective, fact-based decisions.

• Requires an off hour on call rotation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ Years supporting Palo Altofirewall/ technologies

• Preferred to have both GCP and AWS experience

• Industry recognized certifications, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), AWS Security certifications,PaloAlto Certificationsare preferred.

• Strong organizational skills with the capacity to multi-task on projects with shifting priorities
