Brown & Brown's Risk Solutions team, formerly known as Beecher Carlson, is looking for a Strategic Claims Consultant to join the team in Atlanta, GA or remotely.

The Strategic Claims Consultant will be responsible for claims consulting, program analysis, and risk support services to clients in collaboration with Senior Leaders, internal service teams, and brokerage partners when applicable. This role supports clients through strategic claim collaboration focused on accelerated closures, mitigation of exposure, improved claim outcomes, and alignment of resources based on program needs and emerging trends. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Essential Duties and Functions:

• Consult with clients on claim strategy, documentation, resource coordination, and vendor management support based on the nature of the claim and the client’s program needs.
• Support clients with strategies that promote appropriate cost mitigation, claim resolution progress, and timely advancement of claim discussions consistent with client objectives.
• Anticipate potential issues throughout the claim lifecycle and facilitate proactive communication among the client, TPA/Carrier team, vendors, and internal stakeholders to support accelerated closures and mitigate exposure.
• Provide consulting guidance on coverage positions, claim strategy, and resolution options, including advocacy support.
• Collaborate with clients and claim stakeholders to advance timely, fair, and efficient claim resolution through focused follow-up, strategic negotiation support, and exposure mitigation.
• Provide claim status insight and program trend information to internal service teams and brokerage partners when applicable to support engagement.
• Identify coverage, claim handling, vendor management, or operational concerns, and communicate recommendations to support improved outcomes and program alignment.
• Develop and maintain claim service plans based on client needs, program structure, claim trends, and desired consulting support.
• Identify and support process improvements focused on improved efficiencies, clearer workflows, and alignment of resource support based on program needs, loss activity, and claim trends.
• Support and strengthen the claims consulting practice through individual contributions, recommendations, mentoring and coaching of junior team members, and sharing meaningful success stories with internal teams and clients as appropriate.
• Provide claims consulting input and support for client development opportunities, stewardship discussions, and proposal-related needs when applicable.
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with clients, adjusters, vendors, and brokerage partners to support effective claim collaboration and program results.
• Effectively communicate complex claim and program information in a clear, professional manner across email, phone, and presentation settings.
• Be able to develop presentations and executive summaries that clearly communicate work performed, summarize program activity and outcomes, and provide forward-looking recommendations to help influence claim handling behaviors, improve program performance, and support alignment among the client, third-party administrator, and carrier.
• Monitor marketplace, jurisdictional changes, industry and program trends that may affect client exposure, claim outcomes, vendor performance, or resource needs.
• Attend required training sessions, courses, and professional development opportunities to maintain current consulting, claims, technical, and client service skills.
• Ensure you are meeting the necessary productivity requirements.
• Maintain an appropriate level of confidentiality of information processed.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required

• Previous working experience with Worker's Compensation and Liability claims highly preferred
• Bachelor’s degree including but not limited to Business and/or Risk Management, and/or 8-10 years of related insurance experience.

• Must have or be able to obtain the appropriate state broker licenses. 

• Ability to establish work priorities and manage time effectively. 
• Ability to use initiative and good judgment in accomplishing tasks with minimal errors/Must possess critical thinking skills.
• Establish and maintain effective work relationships and function in a team environment. 
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to lead/command client and/or market discussions.
• Good listening skills.

• Proficiency in the use of personal computers, including data entry, word processing, and spread sheet applications. Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
