Principal Delivery Manager, Portfolio
Mission Lane · Remote · United States · 13h ago
Mission Lane is combining the power of data, technology, and exceptional service to pave a clear way forward for millions of people on the path to financial success. By attracting top talent and leveraging cutting-edge technology, we’re enabling people to unlock real financial progress. Sound like a mission you can get behind?
We're looking for a Principal Delivery Manager to own delivery across Portfolio Management, reporting to the Senior Director, Portfolio Prioritization & Delivery.
The impact you'll make:
A customer has paid on time for months, and Mission Lane notices. Their credit line grows, and the app lays out what they can do next. That moment comes out of Portfolio Management, where credit line decisions and the programs that recognize a customer's progress are designed and refined.
The Principal Delivery Manager, Portfolio Management shapes how that work gets planned, sequenced, and delivered. Your puzzle is deciding how to deliver while the best structure is still being discovered, keeping momentum and rigor in balance.
Mission Lane is standing up its first dedicated delivery team, and you will set the standard for how Portfolio Management delivers. Within a year, the teams you work with will run on a delivery approach you built and have adopted.
What you'll own:
- The delivery strategy and model for Portfolio Management, including how work is planned, tracked, reviewed, and communicated to executives, built around the outcomes its internal customers need
- Creatively changing how we deliver to drive faster impact across the organization as technology and working models rapidly shift
- Delivery discovery for multi-team initiatives, so large commitments are scoped and de-risked before work begins
- Coordination across every team Portfolio Management touches, with dependencies and unknowns surfaced early and complex cross-team problems identified proactively and driven to a solution
- The engagement model for Portfolio Management, covering execution planning, release planning, and how teams stay in step with each other and with executive leadership
- Delivery standards for Portfolio Management, built from the themes you see across its work
- Informal guidance for fellow Delivery Managers as delivery practice takes shape
You'll thrive in this role if:
- You are passionate about reimagining how we work through the seamless integration of process, technology, and human connection.
- You are comfortable starting without a playbook.
- You define what good looks like, test it with the teams doing the work, and refine it until it sticks.
- You see connections across teams, including teams well outside Portfolio Management, and you anticipate the dependency before it becomes a delay.
- You make sound sequencing and priority calls as the picture develops, and you explain your reasoning clearly.
- You partner with executive leadership on delivery trade-offs and bring a clear recommendation to each conversation.
- You are a recognized voice on delivery practice. Leaders turn to you when a delivery question needs a clear answer, and you help define the metrics that show how delivery is performing.
- You guide other delivery professionals through coaching and example, and the practices you shape get adopted by the teams you work with.
Minimum qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience delivering complex, cross-functional programs, including initiatives that span multiple organizations.
- Track record of building delivery structure, processes, or engagement models where no established approach existed, and seeing them adopted.
- Experience defining delivery metrics or standards that were later adopted beyond the team that created them.
- Experience coordinating across organizations, anticipating unknowns, and handling late changes without disruption to the work.
- Strong executive-level communication and facilitation skills.
- Experience informally guiding or coaching other delivery professionals without formal management authority.
- Ability to travel ~4+ times per year for high quality in person collaboration.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with portfolio management, capital allocation, or credit portfolio functions.
- Experience standing up a new function, process, or center of excellence.
- Experience in financial services, fintech, or another regulated industry.
Compensation:
Annual full-time starting base salary range: $145,000 - $188,000
This role is eligible for additional compensation in the forms of participation in our annual incentive and equity programs.
Pay is based on factors such as work experience, education, certification(s), training, skills, and competencies related to the role. Mission Lane also offers a comprehensive benefits plan, which includes paid time off, 401(k) match, a monthly wellness stipend, health/dental/vision insurance options, disability coverage, paid parental leave, flexible spending account (for childcare and healthcare), life insurance, and a remote-first work environment.
About Mission Lane:
Founded in December 2018, Mission Lane is a purpose-driven fintech company based in the U.S., with headquarters in Richmond, Virginia.
It all started with a realization: nearly fifty percent of the adult population in the U.S. doesn’t have access to a clear line of credit. Most traditional credit card companies either overlook or overcharge this group because they have less-than-perfect credit scores or no scores at all. We decided this just wouldn’t do.
In partnership with our sponsor banks, we offer credit cards under the Mission Lane brand name, with better, clearer terms, and a more refined customer experience than the alternatives available to people working hard to improve their credit. To date, over four million consumers have chosen Mission Lane, earning high customer ratings on Credit Karma for its market segment and industry leading Net Promoter scores.
Mission Lane has cumulatively raised over $600 million of equity from leading investors, including Invus Opportunities, QED Investors, LL Funds, funds affiliated with Oaktree Capital Management, and other leading investors.
Our commitment to a workplace built on respect and dignity is guided by our core value of Unity. We believe that everyone plays a vital role in our shared purpose, and we actively cultivate an environment where all individuals have the opportunity to do their best work. By fostering a culture of empathy and collaboration, we create a strong sense of belonging and support for every team member.
Mission Lane is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, or gender identity), national origin, age, disability, genetic information, or any other protected status.
Mission Lane provides reasonable accommodations to applicants who need them for medical or religious reasons, as required by law. Applicants can initiate an accommodation request by contacting peopleexperience@missionlane.com.
Mission Lane is not sponsoring new applicant employment authorization and please, no third-party recruiters.
Application Integrity:
Our cardholders trust us with their financial well-being, and this trust starts with the integrity of the people on our team. We're looking for team members who share our dedication to transparency and truth. Please verify that the information in your application is accurate and complete.
Providing any information to Mission Lane that is not completely truthful at any point during the application or hiring process may result in removal from the hiring process, disqualification from future opportunities, withdrawal of an offer or other sanctions for candidates and, in addition for employees, disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
