About this role
We are seeking an experienced Oracle OSM and UIM professional to provide senior-level operational expertise across telecom provisioning, order management and service fulfilment platforms. Based in Pune, you will play a key role in ensuring service availability, reliability and operational excellence for mission-critical fulfilment applications. This role combines technical leadership, production support, operational readiness, incident recovery, automation and continual service improvement within a complex telecom OSS environment.
What you will do
Operational SME Leadership
•Own end-to-end operational accountability for Oracle OSM, Oracle UIM, provisioning, order management and service fulfilment services.
•Ensure platform availability, reliability, performance, resilience and SLA compliance.
•Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex fulfilment, provisioning, inventory and integration issues.
•Lead service health reviews, capacity reviews, operational governance activities and risk assessments.
Transition & Operational Readiness
•Lead service transitions from project or incumbent teams into Business-as-Usual (BAU) Application Operations support.
•Define and validate support models, knowledge transfer plans, shadow and reverse-shadow activities, runbooks and acceptance criteria.
•Confirm production readiness covering monitoring, alerting, documentation, access management, support coverage, rollback and recovery procedures.
•Drive stabilisation and hypercare governance following transitions and production deployments.
Incident, Problem & Change Management
•Lead P1 and P2 incident recovery, technical triage and cross-functional coordination.
•Own root-cause analysis quality and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
•Reduce recurring incidents, order fallout and mean time to recovery through proactive problem management practices.
•Assess operational risks associated with changes and support controlled implementation and validation activities.
Fulfilment & Provisioning Expertise
•Troubleshoot order decomposition, orchestration, workflow, inventory allocation, provisioning and downstream integration issues.
•Drive recovery of failed or stuck orders and improve order fallout handling processes.
•Support operational components built on Informix, Oracle SQL/PL-SQL, Unix/Linux and shell scripting technologies.
Automation, Observability & Continual Improvement
•Automate health checks, diagnostics, housekeeping activities, repetitive service requests and operational reporting.
•Develop and enhance dashboards, alerts and service views using observability platforms such as Dynatrace, Kibana and Datadog.
•Use operational insights and service trends to improve availability, reliability and supportability.
•Mentor engineers and contribute to knowledge management and operational capability development.
Who you are
•Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle Order and Service Management (OSM) and/or Oracle Unified Inventory Management (UIM) within telecom OSS environments.
•Strong background in telecom provisioning, order management and end-to-end service fulfilment operations.
•Proven experience supporting critical production environments and leading major incident recovery activities.
•Demonstrated expertise in root-cause analysis, problem management and implementation of permanent corrective actions.
•Experience managing service transitions, operational readiness reviews and post-go-live stabilisation activities.
•Strong working knowledge of Informix databases, Oracle SQL/PL-SQL, Unix/Linux administration and shell scripting.
•Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Kibana, Splunk, Zabbix, Datadog or similar platforms.
•Good understanding of ITIL disciplines including Incident, Problem, Change and Release Management.
•Strong stakeholder engagement, vendor management, communication and technical leadership capabilities.
•Experience mentoring support engineers and supporting continual service improvement initiatives.
•Typically brings 10+ years of relevant experience with significant exposure to telecom OSS and Application Operations environments.
